PhD thesis defence: Urbanisation lacks vision News 23.5.2022 Ilppo Soininvaara (M.Sc.), MDI’s specialist in urban development and politics, researched for his PhD thesis the policy of urbanisation in Finland. The PhD thesis illustrates the development of urbanisation, the related political debate and various strategic interests. Soininvaara defended his thesis on May 25, 2022 at 12 noon at the faculty of science of the University of Helsinki. MDI is involved in analysing structural change instruments in Finland News 10.5.2022 MDI was involved in carrying out a study of the structural change instruments used in Finland, for example, the reaction to abrupt structural change (ÄRM) instrument and the proactive approach to structural change (ERM) instrument. The report outlines the development and features of these Finnish instruments while also detailing the experiences gained from the evaluations.
