Urban policy road map VII – On cities

Urban Policy Roadmap VII – On cities, published by MDI, Kuntalitto (the Municipal Association) and Kuntasäätio (the Municipal Foundation), examines the current state of national urban policy and, in particular, the core issues requiring national level discussion.

The roadmap describes a turning point in urban policy: the specific issues pertaining to cities require a clear vision of the future and a framework that supports effective urban policy. The major forces of change that will emerge in Finland in the 2030s are discussed extensively in the roadmap, including, regional polarisation and segregation, the fight against climate change and nature loss and science and culture as a catalyst for innovation. Finland’s top experts in urban policy proceed to reflect on the challenges of the present, but their gaze is also directed towards the cities and urban policy of the future.

The publication consists of writings by experts in various fields.
