Front page References MAL-visions for the Helsinki region up to 2030 and 2050 MAL-visions for the Helsinki region up to 2030 and 2050 Date: 1.4. –31.8.2017 Research, studies Strategies and programmes The project identified general future developments in land use, housing and transport planning (MAL) and developed scenarios for the target years 2030 and 2050 of the MAL Plan. The purpose of the work was to increase understanding of the direction in which the operating environment is likely to develop by 2030 and what possible developments could be identified after 2030. The work focused on planning, goal setting and impact assessment. The aim was to enable the plan to be flexible in terms of changes in the various operating environments and to direct the actions such that it is possible to choose the right actions at the right time.
