Front page Compiling a Knowledge Base to Support the Updating of Tampere’s Strategy and the Preparation of the Mayor’s Programme Compiling a Knowledge Base to Support the Updating of Tampere’s Strategy and the Preparation of the Mayor’s Programme Date: 3.2. –30.4.2025 The City of Tampere is preparing to update its strategy and develop a new mayor’s programme. To support this process, a comprehensive knowledge base was compiled to highlight the critical areas of change that will shape the city’s future. The project identified and analysed key trends, including the impacts of digitalisation and technological transformation, the green transition, labor market shifts, reducing inequality, and urban development challenges. The goal was to create 8–10 change area cards, which will outline key objectives, indicators, and actions to support the strategic planning process. The work was based on extensive background analysis, expert interviews, and participatory workshops. The perspectives of residents, stakeholders, and experts were actively incorporated into the knowledge base. As a result, a clear and visually accessible information package was produced to support decision-making and the implementation of the strategy. The project was carried out during the spring of 2025.
