Immigration

Finland’s population growth increasingly relies upon work- and study-based immigration – yet immigration remains unevenly distributed across the country. Municipalities and regions can strengthen both their attractiveness and ability to retain newcomers by promoting two-way integration. We provide insight, support and practical solutions related to immigration.

What Do We Do?

Successful immigration and the promotion of two-way integration are vital to Finland’s future.

We produce and analyse data on immigration and related trends. We support municipalities and cities on issues related to settlement, integration and internationalisation. We build networks to develop effective models for work- and study-based immigration.

Through our work, we foster dialogue on what a better immigration policy – and a future-proof Finland – could look like.

Without immigration, there will be no population growth, no working-age population, and no competitiveness.

We Produce and Compile Knowledge

We provide timely, comprehensive data on immigration to support informed decision-making.

Our Immigration Snapshot and Scenarios service brings together key local and regional immigration data. It enables municipalities and regions to anticipate and influence demographic developments.

We Facilitate Renewal

We create action plans and conduct studies for our clients on settlement, integration and internationalisation.

We organise participatory workshops that bring together stakeholders and immigrants to co-create solutions. We support municipalities in enhancing both their attractiveness and their capacity to retain newcomers.
