Front page The impact of expanding free pre-school education The impact of expanding free pre-school education Date: 27.3. –31.8.2019 Evaluations Information Services and Data Analysis Research, studies The study on free pre-school education for 5-year-olds in the Tampere metropolitan area described the current state of pre-school education in the region, assessed and developed the comparability of municipal pre-school education and financial data and assessed the conditions for organising a free (compulsory) pre-school education for five-year-olds in the municipalities of the Tampere metropolitan area. In addition, the regional themes of cooperation in the organisation of pre-school education were also described. The work included interviews with officials responsible for pre-school education in municipalities, document analysis, a review of financial data and workshops.
