Development of labour force matching forecasting model of Salo

Labour force availability has become a very important issue for the success of Finland and its regions, both in the short term in terms of recovering from the corona pandemic and in the long term in relation to the population ageing and shrinking in many regions of Finland. The possibility of building a forecast model for the matching of supply and demand in the labour force in the Salo area was also discussed. An initiative has been taken in Salo to convene a working group on local labour shortages. To support the management of the working group, a current situational picture is required, as well as a forecasting model that could anticipate the development of labour supply and demand and the situation in the near future and in the longer term over a 10 year period.
