Provision of Expert Services to the Smart Municipal Strategy project

The municipalities of Mäntsälä, Nurmijärvi and Sipoo are jointly implementing the Smart Municipal Strategy project, co-financed by the Ministry of Finance. The project aims to strengthen strategic thinking and expertise in the municipalities and to develop a concept to support strategic management and strategy work.

MDI assisted the municipalities in conceptualising the interactive tools used in the strategy work. During the project, MDI reviewed the background research conducted, carried out a few additional interviews with the municipalities’ management personnel, conducted two interactive workshops and created a guide to support the implementation of the workshops. The workshops conducted during the project focused on formulating the strategic themes and objectives of the municipality, as well as defining the monitoring of operations and metrics. As a result of the work, a practical guide was created to support interactive work. The guide was visualised and formatted in an easily scannable form at the end of the work.
