Clear changes in migration in the Helsinki region during the pandemic News 10.8.2022 MDI carried out a review of ongoing changes in migration and housing preferences in the Helsinki region during the Covid-19 pandemic. The purpose of the review is to support regional planning on land-use, housing and transport. The study compared the region’s migration statistics from the pandemic years to those of the previous decade. Migration was examined both municipality-by-municipality and in relation to smaller statistical areas. In addition, the report compiled extensive material on the development of the housing market as well as on other information related to housing and housing choices.
