Front page Support for the preparation of the Northern Ostrobothnia Regional Programme 2026–2029 Support for the preparation of the Northern Ostrobothnia Regional Programme 2026–2029 Date: 13.12.2024 –30.9.2025 Strategies and programmes The changing international operating environment, the tight financial situation of the state, wellbeing services counties and municipalities, as well as regional administration reforms, create a need to reassess regional development goals and choices and translate them into a new regional programme. MDI supported the Regional Council of Oulu Region in drafting its new regional programme. The work was carried out as a place-based, interactive process, resulting in a clear, concise and impactful programme document. The process involved a thorough analysis of existing documented materials, supplemented with interviews to enhance the situational picture, gathering perspectives on regional development directions through a survey, organising a regional tour and shaping the contents of the regional programme in facilitated workshops.
