Structural Model and Development Plan for the SII Municipalities (Seinäjoki, Ilmajoki, Isokyrö)

MDI was involved in drafting the structural model and development plan for the SII municipalities (Seinäjoki, Ilmajoki, Isokyrö). The project’s goal was to create a comprehensive structural model that includes residential and employment areas, the transportation system, the blue-green network and business zones. The structural model will serve as a foundation for other zoning and development plans and aims to support municipal cooperation and regional marketing.

The work involved analysing baseline data, scenario assessments, impact evaluations and organising interactions with various stakeholders. During the project, workshops were held to review and refine the developed scenarios. The end result was a shared municipal vision of the regional structure and its key elements. The work was carried out in collaboration with FCG Design and Engineering Ltd.
