Regional economic impact assessment in the Climate-4-CAST project

MDI and FCG experts examined the regional economic impacts of the climate actions of the city of Tampere. The study was part of the EU-funded Climate-4-CAST project. The study provided data on the regional economic and emission impacts of selected climate actions for the tool that was developed in the project. The measures included, among others, phasing out oil heating and investing in solar power within the city area. The regional economic impact assessment considered, for example, the effects on employment, value added, and tax revenue.

The project was led by Pauli Santala from FCG’s urban planning team, with Marko Nurminen and Taina Ollikainen also contributing to the study.
