Front page RE-INDUSTRY – Capacity Building for Re-industrialising Regions in a Globally Decarbonising Economy RE-INDUSTRY – Capacity Building for Re-industrialising Regions in a Globally Decarbonising Economy Date: 2.1. –31.10.2025 Research, studies ESPON, in collaboration with Finnish and Swedish partners, has launched a project aimed at enhancing the capacity of industrial regions to renew themselves as part of the green transition. The project includes a statistical analysis based on regional data to identify the most promising industries from the perspective of a carbon-neutral economy. Additionally, workshops will be organised to strengthen the capacity of regional actors and stakeholders in advancing regional vitality and economic policy. The project involves the Ostrobothnia region in Finland and the Västerbotten and Västernorrland regions in Sweden. MDI serves as the country lead for Finland. The project is led by the Norwegian company MENON Economics, in partnership with Spatial Foresight and Ottoson Consulting. Keywords: Companies Growth Industries Regional development
