Practices for Recording, Referring and Monitoring Physical Activity Counselling

The aim of the study was to provide an up-to-date overview of the practices used in municipalities for recording, referring and monitoring physical activity counselling services. The study in particular examines how clients are directed to the service and how referrals are made, what kinds of recording, statistical and monitoring practices are in use, how clients’ progress is followed and whether this information is utilised in service development, as well as how recording and monitoring practices support the strategic nature, management and reporting of the service in municipal decision-making. The work consists of a current-state assessment, interviews and the reporting of results.

The work was carried out in collaboration with Virpi Pitkänen and Emmi Savola from FCG.
