Front page Mellunkylä vision Mellunkylä vision Strategies and programmes Together with the Uusi Kaupunki collective, MDI prepared a vision for the Mellunkylä area. The purpose of the vision work was to describe the renewal of Mellunkylä (the Kontula and Mellunmäki area). Mellunkylä is one of Helsinki’s so-called regional renewal projects, along with Malmi and Malminkartano. Complementary construction and, among other things, significant new rail connections are planned for Mellunkylä. The vision and recommendations for action were based on two different scenarios (moderate and rapid growth).
