EDIH comparative analysis between the Western Finland consortium area and other provinces

MDI carried out a study for a consortium of four provinces in Western Finland (Robocoast EDIH), compiling a regional ‘snapshot’ of innovation potentials and digital capabilities. The consortium includes Central Finland, Satakunta, Ostrobothnia and Central Ostrobothnia. The work is related to the current preparation of the EU’s digital innovation hubs. The analysis compared the significance and role of the EDIH consortium area in Western Finland (European Digital Innovation Hub) in relation to other provinces across the country with the help of indicators related to regional economy, manufacturing and know-how and research.The EDIH region of Western Finland was compared both to the country as a whole and to the four provinces with the largest population and employment (Uusimaa, Pirkanmaa, Southwest Finland and Northern Ostrobothnia).
