Ranua’s Land Policy and Housing Programmes

The municipality of Ranua prepared a land policy programme and a housing programme. The land policy programme includes the objectives and measures related to the municipality’s land acquisition and the implementation of zoning plans which creates conditions for community development. The housing programme defined the principles and practices of the municipality and the companies owned by the municipality regarding the production of housing and the principles of the municipality’s or its companies’ participation in housing production financed by private investors, as well as the principles, means and tools for promoting private or non-profit housing production.

Specialists from MDI were involved in creating a survey and calculating estimates of future population development and its impact on the number and structure of households.

The project manager was Tarja Outila from FCG. Additionally, land use planner Mari Lahti from FCG participated in the work.
