Eurajoki Climate Action Plan

MDI and FCG climate specialists worked on a climate action plan, as outlined in Finland’s climate laws, for Eurajoki municipality. This plan includes an analysis of the municipality’s climate efforts and emission data, goals to cut emissions, different emission scenarios and actions to reduce them. To ensure that the plan is implemented and to monitor its implementation, a model for organising climate work was developed and includes clear steps for public communication on climate issues.

The process actively involved municipal officials and other stakeholders through workshops at different stages. There were also opportunities for Eurajoki to learn from other municipalities who were in the process of creating similar climate action plans.
