Situation picture of early support from social services for children and families (LAPSO)

The goal of the project was to create a general picture of the current situation in respect of services for children, youth and families in accordance with the Social Welfare Act, both regionally and nationally. The report analysed the current situation of early support from social services for children and families.

In addition, based on the situation picture, the report examined the development needs in respect of services stipulated under the Social Welfare Act from the perspective of children, young people and families, the competence of social welfare service organisations and professionals and the operation of the wider service system.

As a result of the project, regional level information was generated on the service paths of early support and the preventive work carried out in basic services, as well as the cooperation between different basic services and child protection. The study produced new information about the differences in service need assessments in accordance with the Social Welfare Act and the Child Protection Act and their impact on customer processes.
