Front page News News Southern Finland’s development corridors profiled by MDI Southern Finland’s development corridors profiled by MDI 30.3.2017 The development of the regions is channelled more and more to development corridors crossing administrative borders. The Region of Uusimaa (Finlands capital region) is preparing the launch of a new comprehensive regional plan, and a key part of this preparatory work is prioritising focus areas of development on regional structure and on main transport networks. This work was supported by profiling work of Southern Finland’s development corridors conducted by the MDI. As a result, different colour-coded development corridors were drawn: Blue to Turku, Orange to Tampere, Green to Lahti and Kouvola and Red to Kotka. Multi-functional development of station areas News 28.11.2023 In the early autumn period, MDI and FCG worked on the development of the Asemanseutu project which is part of the project package – Vitality for Urban Regions. The work undertaken clarified the basic models for the multi-functional development of station areas, as well as providing recommendations for their development and financing.
