Vamia’s Strategy Process

Vamia is a multidisciplinary vocational education organisation maintained by the City of Vaasa, celebrating its tenth anniversary this year. Changes in the operating environment – including the City of Vaasa’s renewed strategy, the forthcoming regional strategy of the Regional Council of Ostrobothnia, and new development directions for vocational education set out by the Ministry of Education and Culture – create a need to update Vamia’s own strategy.

MDI facilitates and provides expert support for Vamia’s strategy process. The process begins with joint preparation by management and staff, and continues through a staff survey and strategy days for both management and staff. The work results in a proposal for Vamia’s new strategic structure along with goals, actions and indicators that help the organisation respond to its changing environment and strengthen its profile as an experimental, forward-looking educational institution.
