Updating the Regional Development Plan

By assignment of the Regional Council of Lapland MDI updated the Regional Development Plan that points out the pursued development and strategy until 2040. The update studied effects of central megatrends, factors of uncertainty and changes in values for the vision chosen by Lapland and for the development alignments. The update paid special attention to the competitiveness of the business and industry, knowhow in the region and service structure related to wellbeing. MDI envisioned that rising or staying in the group of developed regions requires resources and ability to be renewed. MDI walked the Regional Council of Lapland from defining the purposes till the final report. The report was finished in February 2014.
