Front page References The Power of Turku’s urbanisation The Power of Turku’s urbanisation Date: 15.5. –30.11.2019 Workshops, webinars, lectures, camps MDI carried out a project, in cooperation with the City of Turku, on the trends and phenomena relating to urbanisation in Turku. The project tasks included providing positive narratives (including curating 5 texts to be published in Turun Sanomat) on the opportunities created by urbanisation, conducting international comparative city analyses (including with Heidelberg and Adelaide) and organising 3 debates (2 in Turku, 1 in Raisio). The first focused on the phenomena of knowledge, the second on social cohesion and the third on regional cooperation. Finally, a council seminar was organised to bring together the various debates and identify the potential for a positive future for Turku. Keywords: Cities Participation
