Front page Survey on the state of waters and the Baltic Sea and their protection Survey on the state of waters and the Baltic Sea and their protection Date: 1.2. –12.3.2023 Research, studies The Ministry of the Environment wanted to discover citizens’ views on the state of Finland’s waters (rivers and lakes) and the Baltic Sea and on their protection. On behalf of the Ministry of the Environment, MDI carried out a citizens’ survey, in which about 1,000 Finns’ views on the matter were collected. MDI prepared a concise analysis of the results and a report in which opinions were analysed, based on background variables. The work was carried out at the beginning of 2023.
