Front page Survey of biodiversity promotion and nature conservation tasks Survey of biodiversity promotion and nature conservation tasks Date: 1.10. –31.12.2017 Strategies and programmes Workshops, webinars, lectures, camps In the context of the prospective provincial reform, the tasks of environmental protection and biodiversity promotion were to be placed partly in self-governing provinces and partly in a state-led LUOVA. In order to clarify the tasks and roles of the varios levels of governance, MDI conducted a workshop in the autum of 2017 on the division of labour and possible trans-regional cooperation in respect of biodiversity promotion tasks. Four workshops were held and representatives from the Ministry of the Environment, ELY Centres, Provincial Associations, the Finnish Forest and Park Service and major cities were invited. The workshop was commissioned by the Ministry of the Environment. Keywords: Environment Governance
