Front page Report on public support for tourism projects in Finland in 2014-2020 Report on public support for tourism projects in Finland in 2014-2020 Date: 15.5. –30.10.2021 Research, studies MDI, together with the Lapland Tourism Research and Education Institute (MTI), carried out a report on public support for the tourism sector during the period 2014-2020 for the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment. The aim was to examine how much tourism has been supported by public funds and how the support is distributed by industry and region. In addition, the aim was to study the implementation of tourism projects and the attainment of objectives in the light of various indicator data. The work also payed attention to the Covid-19 year of 2020 and creates an overview of the possible effects of the crisis on public support for tourism projects and the tourism sector in 2020.
