Front page Expert and Facilitation Services for the Lapland Agreement Process Expert and Facilitation Services for the Lapland Agreement Process Date: 18.11.2024 –31.8.2025 Strategies and programmes In 2025, the new Lapland Agreement (in Finnish Lappi-sopimus) for 2026–2029 will be updated. The Lapland Agreement is a statutory document that includes the regional plan and the regional programme. Simultaneously with the update of the Lapland Agreement, an environmental impact assessment, in accordance with the Environmental Impact Assessment Act (SOVA), will also be conducted, followed subsequently by an environmental report. MDI conducted a survey, two future workshops for stakeholders, supplementary interviews with key stakeholders, and workshop for the youth council. As part of the SOVA process, an impact assessment matrix and an environmental report were prepared. The SOVA process was led by Markku Nissi, a leading urban planning expert at FCG.
