Analysis and Projections of Labour Market Matching in North Savo

The goal of the project was to create a computational model and projections of the region’s labour supply and demand for the years 2022–2040, as well as their alignment in the region’s key sectors, based on past development and the best current data.

The computational modelling was carried out on a sector-by-sector basis, taking into account each sector’s specific characteristics, retirement pressures and development trends. All models were created at both the regional and sub-regional levels. The work presented the results of quantitative labour demand forecasting for North Savo and provided a more detailed analysis of labour market matching, the potential for divergent development paths, the effectiveness of various measures, and sector-specific outcomes. Additionally, an extensive overview was produced of the historical development and current state of the region’s working-age population, workforce and jobs.
