Front page News News MDI formulates future skenarios for Helsinki Regional Transport Authority (HSL) MDI formulates future skenarios for Helsinki Regional Transport Authority (HSL) 1.1.1970 Helsinki Regional Transport Authority (HSL) is preparing an update to the current Helsinki region transport system plan covering land use, housing and transportation (LHT) and long term skenarios for the future. The objective is to recognize future paths and phenomenas related to land use, housing and transportation and formulate skenarios for LHT plan’s target years 2030 and 2050. The idea is to enhance planners’ and other stakeholders’ understanding of the most propable future path for the LHT operational environment in 2030 and other possible skenarios for 2050. This work is used in planning, target setting and impact evaluation. The future skenarios will enhance the resilience and elasticity of LHT planning and guide to choose timely the right actions. The work undertaken clarified the basic models for the multi-functional development of station areas, as well as providing recommendations for their development and financing.
