Front page News News Kaisa Lähteenmäki-Smith joins MDI Kaisa Lähteenmäki-Smith joins MDI 19.12.2018 MDI will get a strong addition to its team when Kaisa Lähteenmäki-Smith moves from the Prime Minister’s Office to MDI from the beginning of February 2019. Kaisa defended her doctoral thesis about the change in European administrative structures, and in recent years she has been developing experimental Finland and reforming state administration. For the past year, Kaisa has been in Sitra developing a phenomenal state administration and the Reformers training program. Kaisa herself commented on the transfer: “The main story of the transition to me is to make phenomenal governance and a human-oriented reform of society at local and regional level. This includes, in addition to cross-industry and systemic perspectives, vitality, knowledge management, experimental culture and inclusion. Life happens in municipalities and local communities. ” Kaisa will come to MDI in particular to develop MDI’s knowledge management and to lead and coordinate demanding research projects. Her location will be the Helsinki office in the Autotalo, where Kaisa will be a key player. The work undertaken clarified the basic models for the multi-functional development of station areas, as well as providing recommendations for their development and financing.
