How to Organise Development Work in Eastern Lapland? 10.9.2015 Joint development, forms of organization and resources of the municipalities are, like the rest of the world, in major change. In September-October MDI will make field work in colourful Eastern Lapland and become familiar with the current organisation of co-operation between the municipalities of Kemijärvi, Salla, Savukoski and Pelkosenniemi. MDI will analyse how regional cooperation can be implemented more flexibly and more economically. Development alternatives are the current organisational model of development, a registered association, the company model and operating without a separate organization, for example, as mayors’ cooperation group. The work takes into account regional specificities of Eastern Lapland, the potential for the future, as well as the needs of emerging cooperation between municipalities. Multi-functional development of station areas News 28.11.2023 In the early autumn period, MDI and FCG worked on the development of the Asemanseutu project which is part of the project package – Vitality for Urban Regions. The work undertaken clarified the basic models for the multi-functional development of station areas, as well as providing recommendations for their development and financing.
