Front page News News A customised digital information service supports Kajaani’s decision-making and helps monitor the city’s development A customised digital information service supports Kajaani’s decision-making and helps monitor the city’s development 7.5.2020 MDI implemented a digital information service for Kajaani, which monitors the development of the city of Kajaani through the most important indicators and municipal comparisons describing regional development and vitality. Guided by the city strategy of the city of Kajaani (2019–2022), Kajaani strives to strengthen the vitality of the municipality and especially the well-being of the population, as well as the attractiveness and development of innovation in Kajaani. To support the strategy and the city’s economy and operations, information is needed on the development of these issues and the situation of the municipality. One of the main benefits of the digital information service is that the most important information describing the development of the city can be found in one service pre-visualised. In addition, informative and versatile customisable visualisations are easily used by city management, employees and persons elected to a position of trust. The data can also be attached to PowerPoint presentations, for example. The information service implemented with the Tableau program is published at: www.mdi.fi/tietopalvelu/Kajaani_tietopalvelu.
