Front page News News MDI continued sparring of the smart and green small cities in Finland MDI continued sparring of the smart and green small cities in Finland 26.5.2014 Small and medium-sized cities, of which there are about 40 in total in Finland, are in important role in national regional and urban structure. Their development is challenged by both industrial and public sector structural changes. Ministry of Employment and the Economy has launched a small pilot programme on the development of small and medium-sized cities. MDI sparred smart and green small cities when they gathered to the premises of Local Finland in Helsinki in May.
