Front page News News Municipal Structure of Kainuu to be investigated by MDI Municipal Structure of Kainuu to be investigated by MDI 19.6.2014 The team of MDI experts, led by Design Director Janne Antikainen, will investigate the municipal structure of Kainuu Region by June 2015. The main idea is to study the vitality of the municipalities and the Kainuu region as well as strengthening the co-operation, whatever the conclusions on the municipal structure are. Work will give building blocks to construct more competitive and attractive Kainuu Region. Most central research question is to define what a municipality actually is after the major changes eg. in social and health care as well as in municipal economy equalization payment are taking place.
