MDI Decided on Grants

We were positively surprised by the amount of grant applications as well as by the versatile approaches to regional development presented in the research plans. All the applications were highly interesting and written in professional manner. MDI decided to give grants to three Master’s Thesis. Grants were given to:

  • Mr. Lauri Ovaska (University of Vaasa), Public participation in municipal land use planning – Collaborative planning process in Central Pasila, Helsinki.
  • Ms. Tiia Possakka (University of Oulu), Regional Adaptability Index. Regional resilience in the municipalities of Finland.
  • Ms. Sofia Tuisku (University of Turku), Future prospects of the Finnish countryside – How is Rural Development Programme for Mainland Finland described in national press?

Each grant is worth EUR 2 000. All theses are due September 2015. Congrats to all receivers!
