Front page Update on Kempele’s population projection Update on Kempele’s population projection Date: 1.6. –1.8.2025 MDI has produced a sub-area-level population forecast for the Municipality of Kempele on several occasions in recent years. In this concise update, Kempele’s municipal-level population forecast was updated to reflect the 2025 figures. The update was prompted by weaker population development in Kempele, and more broadly in the Oulu region, during the period 2024–2025, as a result of which the previous population forecast assumed a more rapid rate of growth for the municipality than actually transpired. As part of the update, all municipal-level assumptions were reviewed and revised to best reflect the data available for 2025. A short report on the key results was compiled from the updated data, describing the main changes relative to the previous population forecast and the factors behind them.
