MDI will study a variety of approaches, which may be used to collect genuine and continuous feedback about mobility and the transport as well as problem solution ideas associated with the user’s view, and thus increase the understanding of the normal client in transport. This operation model aims to develop a transport system – journey chains and services – from the perspective of the passengers, taking desires, needs and behaviour into account. Users’ perspective is detected nowadays in completely different ways than what has been in the past. In creating a new participation model, the most important thing is to understand new ways of civic participation and trends, as well as the possibilities offered by new technologies. Work is carried out in two expert workshops in January-February and the work will be completed by the spring of 2016. The work is ordered by the Finnish Transport Agency and Finnish Transport Safety Agency.
