Front page News News Towards Vibrant Second and Third Tier Cities Towards Vibrant Second and Third Tier Cities 5.11.2015 During the past two years among the regional cities (second and third tier cities) have had four thematic national networks, one of which has been the co-operation of smart green growth cities (www.smartcities.fi). Today, MDI facilitated the wrap-up seminar, where two years of development work was summarised. The network has mobilised development efforts in e.g. circular economy, energy issues as well as transportation and traffic. The network’s financial leverage has so far been ten-fold. Next, ideas for the upcoming years are developed and seed funding might be applied from the new AIKO-financing instrument launched next year by the Ministry of Employment and the Economy.
