The survey seeks to discover their views on the future of Finland’s municipalities. This year, the survey highlights how Covid-19 has affected Finnish municipalities. MDI conducts the municipality survey for the seventh time. Last year, the survey was sent to 10 117 individuals, of whom 2 598 respondents from 291 municipalities submitted their views. –We use the answers to clarify the general picture of regional development and to outline development trends in respect of the development of Finland’s municipalities and regions. All respondents receive the information they produce together to help develop their own municipality, says specialist Satu Tolonen. This year, the survey closed on the 3rd of December. The results are traditionally published in January, though initial impressions were made available to the survey respondents in December. For each completed survey, MDI donates 50 cents to charity.
