The potential initiation of the Suhanko mine would be a significant boost to the economy, population development, and demand for services in the municipality of Ranua. MDI assisted the municipality of Ranua in preparing a mining program. MDI conducted two workshops to consider practical actions to ensure mining investment and to leverage the positive multiplier effects of the mine for municipal development. The first workshop was particularly aimed at the business sector, and the second one was for the education sector and other key stakeholders. The workshops were held on Teams.
