Front page Strategic openings for mapping out the arctic operation Strategic openings for mapping out the arctic operation Date: 1.1.2013 –31.12.2014 Strategies and programmes Tekes – the Finnish Funding Agency for Innovation – launched strategic openings for mapping out the arctic operation environment and its possibilities in Finland. The objective was to design a vision and a road map for the concrete activities for the development and utilization of arctic excellence. The project focused on analysing the sectors of arctic excellence in Finland and it sought to point out the areas where both research excellence and businesses are interlinked to form a harmonic and competitive value chain. MDI took part in the work as a subcontractor to the University of Oulu (SMARTIC – Roadmap to a smart Arctic specialization) and VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland (ArctiComp, road map for arctic excellence – strategic openings of Finland).
