Situation Overview of Work- and Education-Based Immigration in the Regions of Ostrobothnia and Central Ostrobothnia

MDI conducted an analysis based on the latest statistical data on work- and education-based immigration in the jurisdiction of the Ostrobothnia Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment (ELY Centre), covering the regions of Ostrobothnia and Central Ostrobothnia. The study first provided an overview of immigration trends nationwide, followed by a detailed situation overview of work- and education-based immigration specifically within the Ostrobothnia ELY Centre’s area. Additionally, the analysis examined the internal migration patterns of foreign-language speakers within Finland. Furthermore, the study included a projection of the region’s expected population development by language group up to 2040, based on MDI’s population forecast. The report was produced in both Finnish and Swedish.
