Front page Population plan of Pirkanmaa Population plan of Pirkanmaa Date: 1.1. –31.3.2021 Information Services and Data Analysis MDI created a population plan for Pirkanmaa region up to 2050 and a plan for all municipalities in the region up to 2040. The project provided a detailed analysis of all the components of demographic development in the region and their dynamics in the 2010s, on the basis of which 3-4 population plans were created. These population plans are described from the most optimistic and realistic development trend to a more pessimistic and realistic population trend. Population plans were created on the basis of each municipality’s own starting points. The population plan is used as a tool for the Pirkanmaa structural plan and the municipalities’ own strategies.
