Front page Planning of the regional development programme for Eastern and Northern Finland Planning of the regional development programme for Eastern and Northern Finland Date: 1.3. –13.6.2012 Strategies and programmes MDI played a central role in designing strategic guidelines for regional development of Eastern and Northern Finland, announced by the Finnish Government in June. Regional Development Programme for Eastern and Northern Finland is the most important regional development initiative of this governmental period. MDI supported the preparation of the program document and background memo, and organized a workshop for a group of experts to gather ideas for the program. Further development of the ideas takes place in the Ministry of Employment and the Economy. Keywords: Regional development
