Island policy dialogues for kids

MDI carried out a series of island policy dialogues aimed specifically at young children in order to gauge their opinions on the future of Finland’s archipelago areas. The children participating were 3rd-9th graders. Dialogues were held in four island municipalities.

The children’s dialogues bring together young children, youths and the adults involved in their lives in the same discussion ring. The aim here is to build understanding between the various participants. The dialogues follow the Erätauko-dialogue protocol of constructive discussion. Each dialogue has a leader who is in charge of conducting the dialogue process and of maintaining the atmosphere.
