“How to enliven the city centre?” – study trip to Ostrobothnia.

The developers of the Iisalmi area wanted to organise a study trip to Ostrobothnia and get acquainted with the models used by various Finnish regional cities to design and implement urban centres. MDI utilised its extensive networks and planned study visits to the city centers of Pietarsaari, Lapua, Seinäjoki and Kurikka. A specialist from MDI planned the itinerary and route, book the places to visit and facilitate the conversation on the bus trips. As a result of the study trip, new ideas, input and observations were created which can be exploited in the development of one’s own home region.
