Facilitation of stakeholder engagement for the Turku Urban Region Plan

MDI/FCG is delivering a stakeholder engagement package supporting the preparation of the Turku Urban Region (MAL-area of 13 municipalities) regional plan. The work designs and facilitates five thematic workshops for targeted expert and stakeholder groups to share information on the planning process, refine the evidence base, co-create solution proposals, align perspectives, and strengthen commitment.

The workshop themes focus on green structure and the city-region’s climate economy, service industries and service networks, cultural heritage in the built environment (including tourism opportunities), energy production and the circular economy in the regional structure (including the development of business areas), and living environments in a densifying urban structure. The workshops use a jointly prepared guiding question framework and Screen.io questions, alongside participatory facilitation methods (e.g., Screen.io, small-group discussions, and visible note-taking).

The work produces raw workshop outputs for the client and a concise engagement report that can be used as an appendix to the plan or as part of the supporting materials.
