Front page Facilitation of Climate Plan Workshops for Six Municipalities in South Karelia Facilitation of Climate Plan Workshops for Six Municipalities in South Karelia Date: 6.5. –30.9.2024 Workshops, webinars, lectures, camps MDI facilitated workshops for six municipalities in South Karelia to support the implementation of their climate plans. The participating municipalities were Ruokolahti, Rautjärvi, Taipalsaari, Lemi, Luumäki and Parikkala. Two rounds of workshops were planned and executed in each municipality. The first round focused on measures to reduce emissions in energy and transportation. The second round developed measures related to sustainable food systems, forests and carbon sinks. MDI facilitated a total of 12 in-person workshops. The workshops resulted in municipality-specific proposals for emission reduction measures, as well as measures to enhance adaptation and strengthen carbon sinks. Additionally, proposals for indicators to monitor these measures were defined with the most impactful measures subsequently identified. Keywords: Climate
