Front page Development Plan for Kokkola’s Sustainable Sports Field Network Development Plan for Kokkola’s Sustainable Sports Field Network Date: 26.5. –31.10.2025 Research, studies The purpose of the field network survey was to examine the current state and service level of the city-maintained field network and to set out the future development needs and measures. The aim was to achieve an optimised, multi-purpose network that takes into account user needs, quality and safety requirements, as well as ecological and sustainable considerations. The survey was intended to guide the allocation of resources for the maintenance and development of the field network for the years 2026–2040. The work was led by FCG’s landscape architect Taina Tuominen. Iina Tunkkari from MDI was responsible for the participatory phases of the work, which included a survey for field users, i.e. sports clubs, as well as a workshop.
