Front page Development of the Immigration Ecosystem in South Ostrobothnia Development of the Immigration Ecosystem in South Ostrobothnia Date: 1.5. –30.11.2024 Information Services and Data Analysis Workshops, webinars, lectures, camps South Ostrobothnia has experienced significant population growth from immigration during the period 2021–2023. This increase in immigration partly compensates for the rapid decline of the working-age population and helps slow the overall rate of population decline in the region. MDI assisted the South Ostrobothnia ELY Centre in forming a shared vision for building a regional immigration ecosystem. MDI prepared an immigration status report for South Ostrobothnia based on the latest statistical data. Additionally, MDI facilitated discussion sessions for employment areas, with the first such session held for the Kymppi employment area on August 28, 2024 and the second scheduled for the Suupohja employment area on October 28, 2024.
